A few months from its closure due to major works, the Notre-Dame-la-Grande church in Poitiers lights up every evening in the summer. From June 27 to September 22, the artistic company Spectaculaires projects, at nightfall, a seven-minute visual and sound animation on the facade of the church.
Visual and sound animation
The animation, entitled “revelation”, replaces the “Polychromies of Notre-Dame” which have illuminated the facade of the church every summer since 1995. “The goal is to reveal the facade of the church. Notre-Dame will be under construction for two years from the end of September and we said to ourselves that to mark the occasion during this entire summer period, for three months, the people of Poitevine will be able to rediscover this facade in front of which they pass every day”explains Charles Reverchon-Billot, delegate for cultural rights in Grand Poitiers. Bringing tourists to Poitiers
“It is also an opportunity for tourists. Notre-Dame is the most visited building in Vienne. This is also why the Office contributes greatly to the financing of this magnificent achievement”explains the chosen one.
