Mina and her daughter Houda are among the missing, “we have no news”, worries her family

It was a day of horror that residents of Sint-Bernardsteenweg experienced this Thursday. A huge explosion completely decimated a building in the morning. The explosion has already killed two people, while other occupants of the building are missing.

This is the case of Mina and her daughter Houda. “We were contacted by the police this morning,” Mina’s sister told HLN. “We were informed that my sister and my niece were among the missing people. I was stunned when I heard the news. »

“Her daughter is everything to her”

Ten years old, Houda suffers from Down syndrome. “She still needs medical attention,” worries her aunt. “We have not received any news since this call and that is not a good sign. We pray to God but we can’t do anything from abroad. It’s a terrible feeling. We’re so nervous. »

Wanting to take care of her mother, Mina had moved with her daughter to Belgium since the beginning of this year. “She knew that Houda would do well in Belgium,” she concludes. “Her daughter is everything to her. We don’t know what happened. Mina would never have moved there if she felt too unsafe there. »
