Sitting in silence on the road at an intersection, dressed in white, without signs or slogans, there are around a hundred gathered near the residence of Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. This silent sit-in, the mothers and relatives of hostages held in Gaza began three days ago. But today, the day after Prime Minister Netanyahu’s ouster of the Israeli Defense Minister, their outlook is even darker and the concern is palpable. “I trusted Yoav Gallant. Bringing back the hostages was truly his priority. But we did not give him the means to save them,” laments Shay Dickmann, the cousin of Carmel Gat found dead at the end of August in a tunnel in Rafah with five other hostages.
