On X, on June 4, he announced terrible news, he lost his mother. Rather discreet about his private life, Laurent Luyat wanted to send a message to the public, between two matches. He stated : “I just wanted, in a very short way, if you allow me, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for the countless messages that I have received, whether personal or on social networks, from all of you here.“Very moved, he concluded with tears in his eyes and holding back his sobs: “Because it particularly touches me. In his message published on X on June 4, Laurent Luyat wrote: “We love our mother almost without knowing it, without feeling it, because it is natural, like living. And we only realize the depth of the roots of this love at the moment of the final separation (Maupassant)”. The next day, he explained that he was going to be away from the air for a few days. He declared: “How to thank you for all your messages of support, it’s so moving. And it gives me the strength to be with you again this afternoon at Roland-Garros before leaving for Grenoble on Thursday and Friday for reasons that you know”. Before insisting: “Many thanks again.

Memories of his mother
