Horror added to horror. After the dramatic road accident which cost the lives of four people, including a minor, during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Libourne (Gironde), the public prosecutor announced, this Thursday, the opening of an investigation following the dissemination, “on several social networks, of images of the bodies of the victims of the accident”.

According to the first elements revealed by the Libourne public prosecutor’s office, these images were filmed by one or more people who arrived on the scene shortly before the emergency services.

Mutilated bodies

A man has already been taken into custody as part of this investigation which was entrusted to the Libourne research brigade (BR), according to prosecutor Loïs Raschel.

According to details provided by local media Sud-Ouest, the images can be considered shocking, the bodies being mutilated and the publication of these images violates the dignity of the victims.

A judicial investigation was also opened on Wednesday evening into charges of involuntary homicide, involuntary injury and failure to assist a person in danger. In total, four people, including a minor and three young people aged 19 to 20, died during the night from Saturday to Sunday in this road accident, the circumstances of which still remain unclear.
