This weekend in Angers, Pauline Lett became French Elite Champion in the 100m hurdles, for the 2nd time in her career. In the 5,000m, Yann Schrub also won gold.

13 »07 in Jerusalem, then in Brussels last May, Pauline Lett, made redundant at Metz Metropolis Athletics, has really progressed in the 100m hurdles this season. And for proof! This weekend in Angers, for the French Championships, she dropped below the 13” mark with a finishing line crossed in 12”95 ! A perfect race allowing her to win the title of French Elite Champion in this category, the second of her career (2017).

However, Pauline Lett will not set foot on the slopes of Paris 2024, the minimums being particularly high, i.e. 12”77.

Yann Schrub takes gold in the 5,000m

A gold medal and the title of French 5000m Champion! That’s what, Yann Schrubauthor of great performances this year, during the French Championships in Angers. It was after a final lap in 56 seconds, leaving no chance to Romain Legendre (2nd) and Hugo Hay (3rd), that our Moselle sportsman crossed the finish line with 13’41″38 on the clock. A first national title for the Sarreguemines native who ensures his presence at the Olympic Games.

Another success for the AS Sarreguemines player, who already won silver in Rome for the World Athletics Championships in the 10,000m.

Other results for the Mosellans

Disappointment for the hammer thrower Quentin Bigot who will not go to the Games. With a best throw of 74m67, ranking 2nd in Angers, he did not reach the minimum required to participate in the Olympic adventure in Paris. His gaze is now turned towards the World Championships in 2025 in Tokyo.

For her part, the French heptathlon vice-champion, Auriana Lazraq-Khalass performed in several categories. After two invalid throws, she ranked last in the javelin throw (39m63). In better shape for the 100m hurdles, she won her place in the final with a time of 13”45 allowing her a 6th place in this event.

In the 100m of these Championships, the Forbachoise Marie-Ange Rimlingera, for her part, obtained seventh place with 11”40 on the clock.
