After a very successful European Championships in Rome (June 7-12) for the Blues, itIt’s time for the French Elite Championships. And they will be particularly eagerly awaited this year. As every four years, the competition is spicy and far from being devoid of stakes, due to the proximity of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (August 1 to 11 for the athletics events) and what’s more when the supreme sporting event is being held at home. As in 2012 before the London Olympics, as in 2016 before Rio and as in 2021 before Tokyo, the Stade du Lac de Maine in Angers brings together the best French athletes on the circuit. This will be the sixth time that the Loire stadium will host this prestigious event after 2005, 2009, 2012, 2016 and 2021.

Last chance for the Paris Olympics

Indeed, the event is a big one: It is the very last opportunity for the athletes, who are playing for high stakes, to go for their Olympic qualification, the window for achieving the minimums for the most important competition of the century in France closing this Sunday, June 30.
