A draft decree was examined yesterday in the Government Council: Creation of a national agency for major public facilities

As part of monitoring the implementation of the directions of the Head of State, the government reviewed the progress of various projects linked to water supply.

Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui chaired, yesterday, a government meeting devoted to examining a draft executive decree establishing and organizing the National Agency for Major Public Facilities (Angep), said a press release from the services of the Prime Ministry. The Agency in question will be responsible for “supervising the study, implementation and monitoring of major public projects approved by the President of the Republic with a view to strengthening and developing infrastructure and creating jobs” , added the same press release.

Also, and as part of monitoring the implementation of the directions of the Head of State, the government reviewed the progress of various projects linked to water supply. These include, in particular, projects included in the national program for the construction of seawater desalination stations, “in order to meet growing needs, taking into account housing projects and new urban centers”, we read in the press release.

The government also examined a draft executive decree relating to the national civil aviation security committee and local airport security committees, which “is part of the new legal and regulatory system linked to the sector of civil aviation,” underlined the same Source.

Surplus assets of the market sector

Furthermore, the Council of State Participations (CPE) met yesterday, under the chairmanship of Mr. Larbaoui, to examine the file relating to the surplus assets of the commercial sector of the State. The CPE, let us remember, determines the organization of the public economic sector and translates the government’s orientations in terms of investment and economic policy.

The meeting was devoted, in particular, to the transfer of a certain number of real estate assets of a surplus nature from the public group Divindus-zones Industrielles to the private domain of the State, with a view to their subsequent integration into the real estate portfolio of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), according to a press release from the Prime Ministry.

This decision is part, revealed the same Source, as part of the implementation of the new system approved by the President of the Republic aiming “to provide transparent economic management to the process of granting real estate intended for investment by gradually building the AAPI real estate portfolio.” And, this in order to “include said portfolio in the real estate offers made to economic operators and investment project leaders”, specified the same Source.
