With 12.6 million euros in revenue for 9.7 million euros in expenditure in 2023, the municipality’s operating budget generates 2.9 million euros in management savings. Taxation represents 78% of the City’s revenue. We optimize operating expenses to maintain the margins of maneuver essential to carry out our program
explains Delphine Amelot, financial management assistant. The City maintains a controlled debt repayment capacity.
However, the debt reduction capacity increases from 5.7 years in 2022 to 7 years for the 2023 accounts. “We have the sixth lowest property tax rate in the Metropolis,” adds the chosen one.
On the expenditure side, the increase is 11.36% over one year. We have €413,000 more in energy costs than 2022 and very significant food inflation. Personnel costs increase by €240,000, or 4.1%.
The change in the index point and the increase in restaurant vouchers partly explain this development. The deputy announces a significant drop in the cost of energy of around 25% for 2025.
“Saint-Grégoire is the municipality that invests the most”
On the investment side, Saint-Grégoire is the municipality that invests the most per inhabitant compared to the municipalities of the Metropolis
says Delphine Amelot. The new community village will cost the Gregorians €738,000 and the greening of the city will cost €209,000. Saint-Grégoire has counted 25 projects carried out in-house for green spaces and road developments in 2023. In the town, 22 hectares are maintained in-house, 39 by companies and 14 hectares remain in natural plots.
In terms of meals, Saint-Grégoire is the first municipality in the Metropolis in terms of percentage of purchases from Terres de Sources-certified suppliers indicating local production. In 2023, 144,328 meals were prepared at the municipal restaurant, 5,432 more than last year. Finally, for seniors, the town hall announces having spent €982,000 in 2023. This includes hours of home help and meal delivery. In 2020, this envelope represents €429,000.
