About ten years from retirement, Marie has just realized her professional dream by opening the “Nomad” boutique at 85, avenue Jean Rieux. Specializing in ready-to-wear and decoration, Toulouse has already succeeded in attracting a local clientele with its warm atmosphere.

While some count the days until retirement, others prefer to embark on the risky world of entrepreneurship. This is the case of Marie, a woman from Toulouse who takes on an ambitious challenge: opening her own store.

After more than 35 years in ready-to-wear, Marie does not want to retire without having realized her professional dream. She worked in several boutiques. So many experiences which proved to be formative and which allowed him to acquire key skills.

Today, she is proud to say that she is the owner of “Nomad”, a boutique that opened its doors less than a month ago.

Targeted clientele

After a few days of opening, Marie is very satisfied with the project she put together from scratch. “The customers are present and follow me a lot,” she explains enthusiastically. His store, carefully decorated, could be described as “Instagrammable” (which is worthy of being photographed and then posted on social networks because of the beauty or originality). The atmosphere of the boutique evokes that of a picturesque little street in downtown Toulouse. But against all odds, Marie chose to settle at 85 avenue Jean Rieux. A strategic location. “I wanted to attract local customers, with a defined age range, between 40 and 70 years old,” explains Marie. “It is in line with the purchasing power of this age group and the prices that I offer. And then, the store is located a stone’s throw from the De Grande butcher’s shop which brings together a lot of people. I attract some of their customers who pass by there.

Warm atmosphere

Upon entering the “Nomad” boutique, the customer is greeted by a sweet fruity smell coming from Majorelle mandarin and date scented candles. Bright and soft colors mix harmoniously in the ready-to-wear section, where the majority of pieces come from an Italian supplier. At the back of the store, the customer discovers a selection of colorful and original tableware. Among the key items, a set of tea glasses blown by Moroccan artisans, in shades of brown, green and blue, is placed near a small sofa.

“When they enter my store, I want my customers to feel at home,” smiles the manager. She ensures that the decoration, the warm welcome and the moments of exchange create a friendly atmosphere.
