Famara Ibrahima Cissé, president of the Association of Clients and Members of Financial Institutions (Acsif), managed to organize a major mobilization in front of the headquarters of the Banque de l’Habitat du Sénégal (BHS). This demonstration aimed to denounce what the association considers to be abusive practices by the bank. Following this mobilization, Famara Ibrahima Cissé was arrested by the police.

The President of Acsif invited this Monday, July 1, all banking customers, in particular those of the Banque de l’Habitat du Senegal (BHS), to gather in front of the headquarters and agencies of the BHS. This mobilization aimed to denounce and demand fraudulent withdrawals made by the BHS from the accounts of its customers, which occurred on the night of June 28.

Famara Ibrahima Cissé expressed serious concerns regarding the fraudulent withdrawals made by the Banque de l’Habitat du Sénégal (BHS) from its customers’ accounts.

During his rally in front of the BHS headquarters, he stressed that the BHS is a pioneer in these abusive practices. He warned that if these charges go unnoticed or tolerated, other banks could follow suit, institutionalizing an unfair and fraudulent practice.
