This Monday afternoon, a train and a car collided in Neyruz around 12:45 p.m. The CFF quickly announced the accident on social networks, as well as the interruption of rail traffic. Contacted, the Friborg cantonal police explained the circumstances of the event. “For reasons which remain unknown at the moment, a car fell from the CFF bridge in Neyruz near the Aigle Noir restaurant and landed on the tracks. The sole occupant of the vehicle was slightly injured, but was able to escape his vehicle in time a few minutes before a train traveling on the Romont-Fribourg line hit him. A passenger on the train, a pregnant woman, was slightly injured in the impact, but was able to be taken care of by an ambulance,” explains Gino Frangone, spokesperson for the police. An investigation will be opened.

Until 3 p.m., at least, travelers on the Geneva-Lausanne-Fribourg line will have to pass through Bienne. Canceled trains will be replaced by special buses.
