The Danish Clara Tauson qualified for the round of 16 of Roland-Garros, eliminating the American Sofia Kenin (6-2, 7-5) at the Roland-Garros in Paris, Friday midday.

Tauson, 72nd WTA player in the world, will face the winner of the upcoming match between Canadian Leylah Fernandez, seeded No. 31, and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, seeded No. 8 in the round of 16 of the Grand French Slam.

The 21-year-old Dane clearly dominated the German Tatjana Maria (6-2, 6-3), and won against the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, seeded n°9 (7-6 [4]4-6, 6-3), before her success on Friday against Kenin, ranked 56th in the WTA.

The American had dismissed the German Laura Siegemund (4-6, 6-2, 6-2), and had beaten the French Caroline Garcia, seeded n°21, without being worried about the score (6-3, 6 -3).
