For several weeks, the three traffic lights at Place du Général-Berdoulat in Pinsaguel have been flashing as part of an experiment aimed at streamlining traffic. The first results seem promising and, for the moment, according to the town hall, the lights will remain in this configuration.

This initiative is part of a study carried out by the Muretain Agglo road service to assess the impacts on traffic and safety. The goal is to see if this change reduces traffic jams and improves traffic flow, in particular by observing possible “Waze effects”.

These effects could result in an increase in the number of vehicles using this smoother route to avoid traffic jams on the RD820.

“It’s nice, the traffic is much smoother, especially around 6 p.m.,” says Nadine, a resident of the town. “I hope it will last.” For his part, a local merchant expresses his satisfaction: “Since the light started flashing, there are fewer traffic jams in front of my store and fewer horns.”

The final decision will be made after analyzing the data. The municipality will then decide whether the flashing lights will be maintained or whether there will be other adjustments.

In the meantime, motorists must remain vigilant and adapt to this new configuration.
