The Court of Appeal sentenced Kevin Boulesteix to 18 years in prison this Thursday for the murder of Logan Schmidthis cousin by marriage, in June 2019 in .

The same sentence was handed down at first instance in 2022 by the Assize Court against this 34-year-old man, accused of having shot the 22-year-old victim three times in the street.

Fatal blow to the chest

The general advocate had required a sentence of eighteen to twenty yearsbelieving that “ homicidal intent when Kevin Boulesteix intentionally shoots Logan Schmidt a second and third time » is beyond doubt. Logan Schmidt died of a fatal blow to the chest, which “ couldn’t leave alone » she adds.
