While the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region wants to renovate the Alpexpo exhibition center in Grenoble, a first step will be taken next February. An auditorium that can accommodate 1,000 people or more will be built on the site.
“Un auditorium extensible”
At Alpexpo, an auditorium with just under 500 seats already exists in space 68. It will have a larger neighbor. Renovation work on the “Alpes Congrès” building is impossible as it stands due to asbestos and lead concerns. So an auditorium will see the light of day, attached to the Summum room. “Alpexpo is an emblematic place. It is the event site of Isère. We are going to build an auditorium inside the park, backing onto the Summum. It will be in place by February 2025 . It will be able to accommodate 1,000 people or more since it will be expandable. We can increase the reception capacity. From February, we will have it. We need an auditorium very quickly. That’s why we’re building it inside the park. We have the space to do it.” explains the president of Alpexpo Nathalie Béranger at the microphone of France Bleu Isère. The site could be used for conferences but also shows.
