Vietnam wins 11 gold medals at 2024 Asian Kickboxing Championships

The Vietnamese kickboxing team achieved a remarkable performance at the 2024 Asian Kickboxing Championships, held from October 8 to 13 in Cambodia, winning 11 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese kickboxing team achieved a remarkable performance at the 2024 Asian Kickboxing Championships, held from October 8 to 13 in Cambodia, winning 11 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze.

This exceptional performance allowed Vietnam to climb to third place in the overall medal ranking, behind Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The Vietnamese kickboxing team consisted of 10 coaches and 32 athletes, participating in 34 events. Vietnamese players reached the finals in 22 tournament categories.

Duong Ngoc Hai, Secretary General of the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation, highlighted the importance of this tournament as a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to learn essential skills and prepare effectively for upcoming international competitions, including the 2025 World Games.

The 2024 Asian Kickboxing Championships are one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2025 World Games, scheduled for next year in China. -VNA
