A violent fire broke out during the night from Saturday to Sunday in the Monplaisir residence, avenue de Monbran in Foulayronnes.
Restless night for the residents of the Monplaisir residence, avenue de Monbran in Foulayronnes. A violent fire broke out, around 1 a.m., on the top floor of a building located a stone’s throw from the Colayrac road, west of Agen.
Firefighters, emergency services and law enforcement quickly responded to the scene. Firefighters pulled out all the stops to put out the flames which were spreading through a single apartment. Thanks to their intervention, the fire was quickly contained and did not spread to another part of the building.

As a precaution, 12 people – including the occupant of the apartment engulfed in flames – were evacuated from the Monplaisir residence in the middle of the night. They have been relocated to the Foulayronnes gymnasium, they should return to their accommodation during this Sunday. As for the investigation, carried out by the gendarmes, it would focus on the criminal trail. In fact, the fire was allegedly caused by the tenant himself. Investigations continue this Sunday to shed light on the origin of this impressive blaze.
