Natural gas resources (national production + tax package) reached 1,486 ktoe at the end of August 2024, thus recording a drop of 18% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the Bulletin of the Energy Conjoncture , recently published by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy.
The production of dry commercial gas decreased, in fact, by 26%, the royalty on the passage of Algerian gas recorded a drop of 4% at the end of August 2024 compared to the end of August 2023, standing at 656 ktoe.
It should be noted that the Hasdrubal Field and Nawara Field recorded a decline of 12% and 40% respectively. The same goes for the Miskar field, whose production fell by 20%.
As for southern commercial gas, its production increased by 9% at the end of August 2024.
Furthermore, the distribution of the total royalty between the royalty transferred to STEG and the exported royalty shows that the largest part is transferred to STEG (100% at the end of August 2024).
Regarding Algerian gas purchases, they recorded virtual stability between the end of August 2023 and the end of August 2024, standing at 1615 ktoe.
The national supply of natural gas recorded a drop of 2%, to stand at 3140 ktoe.
