An authorized source at the General Secretariat of the Government indicated that an official decision from the Minister of Health relating to the reduction of the prices of approximately 169 drugs marketed in Morocco will be published shortly in the Official Bulletin. According to Assahraa Al Maghribia, this initiative is part of the Ministry of Health’s commitment to guaranteeing citizens access to essential medicines at affordable prices.

The decree provides for price reductions ranging from 5 to 59%, explains the same source. More specifically, the prices of 107 medicines will fall by 5 to 10%, another reduction of 10 to 30% will concern 52 medicines, while the most significant reduction, of 30 to 59%, will concern 10 medicines.

These are mainly treatments for serious chronic diseases such as cancer, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, hepatitis B, psoriasis, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, schizophrenia, as well as other pathologies requiring long-term care.
