It’s a voice that counts. A little more than a month before the American presidential election, Bruce Springsteen brings his support for Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz in a video posted on his social networks on October 3, 2024.

Leaning at the counter of a diner, this typically American restaurant, the “Boss” insists on the issue of the November 7 election. “This is one of the most important elections in the history of our nation,” underlines the interpreter of Born in The USA.

“Since Civil Warthis great country has perhaps never been so divided politically, spiritually and emotionally as at this moment”, explains the 75-year-old artist. And adds: “It does not have to be like this”.

With a serious face, Bruce Springsteen believes that Donald Trump is “the most dangerous presidential candidate of (his) lifetime.” According to him, the Republican candidate “does not understand the true meaning of this country (the United States), its history and what it means to be American at the deepest level.”

The ‘Boss’ defends Kamala Karris’ ‘vision of the country’

Conversely, the New Jersey native recognizes himself in the “vision of the country” held by Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, “which respects and includes everyone”. For the star, they want to develop an “economy that benefits everyone”, “not just a privileged few like me”.

Bruce Springsteen rejoint the long list of stars who have supported Kamala Harris in recent months: Taylor Swift, George Clooney, Barbra Streisand, Robert de Niro, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry. Not to mention the “Brat” trend launched by Charli XCX or Beyoncé who authorized her to use her title Freedom as a campaign anthem.

Committed musician, defender of the working classes, Bruce Springsteen supported the Democratic Party on multiple occasions during previous American presidential campaigns. The “Boss” gave his support to Barack Obama, of whom he is a faithful friend, but also to John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden during the 2020 election, going so far as to lend his voice to an advertisement for his campaign .

Bruce Springsteen extends his long tour with the E Street Band in 2025. The rock legend will perform at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq on May 24, 2025 and on May 31 at the Vélodrome. The concert was initially scheduled to take place on May 25, but was canceled after a loss of voice.
