The Drâa-Tafilalet region constituted the first stage of the regional bootcamps dedicated to the issue of preserving water resources, held at the initiative of Anapec, GIZ, the German international cooperation agency, and .

Placed under the theme “Innovate for greater sustainability and resilience of our water resources”, the Drâa-Tafilalet Hydrostartup Bootcamp brought together, recently (September 24-29), more than 145 participants from the region, including students, carriers of projects and entrepreneurs.

The regional bootcamps aim to support 15,000 entrepreneurs and are part of the Entrepreneurship promotion and support services provided by Anapec.

Faced with the challenges of water stress, the inaugural gathering aimed to stimulate young people to adapt their economic models by integrating innovative, resilient and sustainable solutions, in order to respond to the current challenges of the scarcity of water resources.

Organized under the aegis of the Wilaya of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, the event benefited from the support of the Regional Council, the Guir-Ziz-Rheris Hydraulic Basin Agency, the CRI, the Energy Cluster, the branch of CGEM, ANDZOA, ONCA, OFPPT and FST of Errachidia.

This strong mobilization has raised awareness among young people of the effects of climate change, as well as encouraging them to propose solutions for sustainable water management.

During the 3 days of Bootcamps organized in each province of the region, participants developed and presented innovative ideas, which made it possible to select the best proposals to participate in a final regional Bootcamp, where they were evaluated by a jury of professionals.

The closing ceremony was marked by the recognition of the three most innovative projects, whose leaders will benefit from comprehensive support including personalized mentoring, specialized training workshops and prototyping support to realize their ideas and test their viability on the ground.
