Within everyone’s reach, chemistry can be explained through experience at the Alès cultural center

From this Friday, October 4 to January 4, the Eurek’Alès association presents, at the Alès cultural center, its new fun exhibition on chemistry.

Following the example of previous years, the Eurek’Alès association is presenting until January 4 at the Alès cultural center, an interactive exhibition on the theme Chemistry in all its forms. On site, several facilitators are present to welcome school groups, but also visitors, who will be able to participate in the various demonstrations of the multiple stands deployed, and, perhaps, generate a passion. “Visitors,” they explain, “carry out various experiments themselves allowing them to master the fundamental notions of chemistry. » Two large parts punctuate the exhibition which firstly develops the fundamentals of chemistry through matter and molecules, chemical reactions with the help of catalysts, aromas, exchanges of electrons, protons… to which it must join particular fields such as biochemistry, inorganic and analytical chemistry.

Chemistry professions and conferences

Just as interesting, the second part focuses on chemical applications and professions. Our facilitators add: “Numerous devices, including explanatory panels, also allow you to understand how the basics of chemistry are used for numerous applications in fields as diverse as health, hygiene, energy, agriculture. , materials, the environment… » Throughout the coming weeks, three meetings are scheduled at the cultural center: conference on the industrial history of chemistry in the Alesian basin by Gérard Sinagra (October 26, 2:30 p.m. ), conference for European Waste Reduction Week (November 23, 2:30 p.m.) and conference on green chemistry by Anne Bergeret, laboratory director at IMT Mines Alès (November 30, 2:30 p.m.).
