Spanning an exhibition area of ​​40,000 m², the Batimatec exhibition which will take place until May 9 is marked by the participation of more than 500 public and private national companies and nearly 300 foreign companies representing around fifteen country.

The 26th edition of the International Building, Construction Materials and Public Works Exhibition (Batimatec 2024) opened yesterday at the Pins Maritimes Exhibition Center (Algiers) with the sector’s export boost in mind.

A directive tirelessly repeated by the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, who opened the Show, accompanied by the Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Lakhdar Rekhroukh, of the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, and the Minister of Hydraulics, Taha Derbal, in the presence of the Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdennour Rabehi.

The minister insisted, during the visit to several stands of public and private companies, on this imperative, placed at the heart of the objectives of the government, which banned imports, he recalled, as is the case for the ceramics segment, “in order to promote national self-sufficiency and pave the way for exports”.

Regarding the AADL 3 program, Mr. Belaribi considered it premature to give all the details on the next formula and the date of its effective launch. However, he affirmed, during a press conference organized on the sidelines of the Show, that the obstacles linked to land bases have been ironed out, thanks to the collaboration of the walis.

Spanning an exhibition area of ​​40,000 m², the Batimatec Show, which will take place until May 9, is marked by the participation of more than 500 national public and private companies and nearly 300 foreign companies representing a fifteen countries, including Turkey, Italy, and China, but also Portugal, France, Tunisia and Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Poland, the Netherlands and Spain . In addition to the exhibition stands, the 2024 edition will be marked in particular by the animation, popularization and debate spaces around the building sector.

Batimatec expo, organizing company of the Show, underlines that it is innovating this year by capturing the interest of start-ups, which will be in the spotlight, within the framework of spaces dedicated to technical events, with the objective of demonstrating the know-how of young entrepreneurs in terms of industrial innovation, particularly in the sector of construction materials and processes.

Furthermore, the program of technical conferences which will take place on the sidelines of the Show will revolve around various themes, under the supervision of several panels of experts, including executives from the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning and the city.

This will include discussing “Monitoring of high-rise buildings”, “Control of technical trade bodies (CET) in the building”, and the advantages of the circular economy and energy efficiency in construction. .

The technical days will also address the theme of start-up innovation, strategic management in business, with a view to effective, committed and sustainable management.

Also note the holding of the 13th edition of the national competition for young architects “La charrette d’Or”, organized by the magazine of the architectural collective Vie de Villes, with the support of the public cement manufacturer GICA. This year the competition will address a theme entitled: “Rethinking common spaces in housing estates”, through the presentation of projects imagined by the young finalist winners, with a view to winning prizes awarded by a jury of experts.
