In the lot of logistical means and equipment exhibited yesterday Thursday, May 16 in Agadir, during the kick-off of the DGSN Open Days, a new machine particularly attracted the attention of the audience. It is an imposing SUV, belonging to a new generation of intelligent patrol vehicles, called upon to strengthen the intervention capabilities of the Moroccan police in terms of crime prevention.

Le360 learns that it is none other than the Moroccan version of the “Ghiath Smart Patrol”, a vehicle which has already proven itself with the Dubai police, and which was developed by the special projects division of W Motors, a manufacturer based in the United Arab Emirates and known for producing the Lykan HyperSport supercar.

Connected to the various security databases, the vehicle will first be tested for a period of six months, in collaboration with the Dubai Police, before evaluating its capacity to improve the services offered to citizens.», Underlined the DGSN.

Described as “one of the most advanced security vehicles in the world», the vehicle stands out for its equipment with new technologies, in particular its 10 forward-facing cameras, capable of recognizing faces at a distance of 9 meters and reading license plates. There is also a retractable 360-degree camera, which can be deployed on the roof to pan, zoom and capture images.

The “Ghiath Smart Patrol” is also equipped with a 40-centimeter screen installed on the dashboard, which can display images from the 10 exterior cameras and the telescopic camera, and whose operating system is boosted with artificial intelligence. Last but not leastthe Ghiath is equipped with a drone with an autonomy of 30 minutes, equipped with a thermal camera to monitor traffic and facilitate rescue operations.

During the World Police Summit 2024, held last March at the World Trade Center in Dubai, the manufacturer W Motors unveiled a new generation of its Ghiath vehicles, equipped with front intervention spotlights, infrared roof cameras and systems advanced monitoring and driving assistance.

With features like the Whelen siren system, digital rearview mirror and ADAS ANPR cameras, officers are equipped for any situation. Enhanced with smart seat belts, a rear police cage and reinforced door panels, as well as practical options like Captain Chair seats, water-resistant rear seats and a drawer system, the Ghiath Smart Patrol represents the pinnacle of technology and functionality in police vehicles», Underlines W Motors in a note published on its website.
