UNK saved a point against Wiltz in one of the fear matches marked by the refereeing of Jérémy Müller which did not please the Northerners joined by two goals from Boutrif on penalties.
The desire to secure his future in the BGL League as quickly as possible but not to expose himself too quickly in a high-stakes meeting. Wiltz apparently understood this squaring of the circle better than Käerjéng. The third quarter of an hour was more choppy and engaged with yellow cards shown against Wiltzois as well as an effort from Victor Gorny punctuated by a nice strike on the sidelines.
The second act was again a story of penalties. Jack Mmaee had restored the lead to the Wiltzois but Jérémy Müller whistled a handball from Kevin Malget following a header from Julien Fostier. The northern defender, however, had his hand relatively glued to his body. Idir Boutrif was quick to score his second goal of the day.
And as if the Northerners were not frustrated enough, a goal in stoppage time signed by Josias Ovi on a pass from Chris Philipps was canceled due to an offside position signaled by the sideline assistant. The Wiltz bench did not let up.
In Bascharage, we took this point as it came. “When we are behind twice, we can say to ourselves that we are happy to come out with a point. It was our penultimate home match against a direct competitor. So it’s normal that we aimed for three points. We have to live with this point but we have to put even more ambition into the game. I asked my guys to hit even harder after the break. We can avoid both goals, but that’s how it is.”, analyzed coach Franck Rinaldo who will go to Fola next week with one mission: to win. Because Mondercange did the work to come back in the wake of a UNK which did not panic. “We will get out of this”, punctuated the double scorer of the day, Idir Boutrif.
In Wiltz, we have the accounting situation under control, but we will have to quickly release the frustration to distance the US Mondorf next Sunday.
