Sainte-Suzanne: the association announces that the fight continues for demerger and appeals the court’s rejection

The fight continues for the demerger of Sainte-Suzanne with Orthez. The J’aime Sainte-Suzanne association announces this Tuesday, April 23, 2024 that it has decided to appeal. At the beginning of April, the administrative court of had rejected an appeal from the association concerning the refusal of the prefect on the question of demerger. A public meeting was held on Thursday April 18 to consult the population on the future. Around a hundred residents participated and asked to continue the fight so that Sainte-Suzanne demerges.

“As we are right, we continue”

Pierre Méliande, one of the members of the J’aime Sainte-Suzanne association, explains why it is necessary to continue: “It’s a long fight. It’s understandable that there are ups and downs. We wondered ourselves but we really felt a revival.”

The association urged residents to join, explaining that this money was used to finance lawyer fees. Furthermore, Pierre Méliande plans to contact the new inhabitants of Sainte-Suzanne to explain the approach of the association, its “legitimacy” and unite further.
