Will father and son James soon make basketball history for the Los Angeles Lakers? The Californian franchise selected Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, with the 55th pick of the 2nd round in the NBA Draft on Friday night. This could be the first time that a father-son duo will be on the field in the NBA. LeBron James has been playing for the Lakers since 2018 and, even at 39, is still one of the best players in the world.

Congenital heart defect
19-year-old Bronny James collapsed last year due to cardiac arrest. In hospital, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. James Junior returned to college basketball in December, but did not have a particularly good season. The junior will therefore have to first recommend himself for a permanent place in the Lakers’ squad.
