200 companies currently benefit from the Halal Maroc label, with around 1,000 references of labeled products mainly of Moroccan origin in the food, cosmetics, food supplements, packaging and catering services sectors.
The director of the Moroccan Institute for Standardization (IMANOR), Abderrahim Taibi, explained during the 6th edition of the Morocco Halal Forum that the Institute facilitates access for Moroccan companies to this label, by establishing a protocol for the recognition of foreign halal certifiers, allowing them in particular to issue halal certificates accepted for foreign inputs to the products presented in the Morocco Halal Label.
As reported by the weekly Eco Life, Abderrahim Taibi notes that this label, essentially focused on export, is seeking confirmation of recognition on foreign halal markets. And to add that to this end, IMANOR constantly seeks to conclude recognition agreements with its counterparts in foreign halal markets.
“We have been able to make significant breakthroughs in this direction with very important formal recognitions for our operators such as that of Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and recently the recognition with Singapore that we are making official today,” recalls Taibi.
According to the director of IMANOR, the Halal Morocco Label “reflects the image of a global halal market which is evolving in volume and requirements, and at the same time reveals more and more difficulties for companies to access and sell. stay there.” In this sense, he insisted on the need to draw inspiration from the successful experiences of certain countries to organize the halal reference in Morocco, in particular through the establishment of a legal framework.
