In the other match, Athletic Bilbao faced the modest club UD Logroñés, on the lawn of the Estadio Nuevo Municipal Las Gaunas. Despite a starting eleven with many starters, Ernesto Valverde's players did not find the fault in more than 120 minutes. With only 18 shots attempted over the entire match, including extra time, the Basque troops of Bilbao needed penalties to lock their ticket for the round of 16 of the competition.
