This Saturday, January 4, France 3 is broadcasting a new episode of “Enquête Parallèle”, its new collection of detective TV films with Florence Pernel. Will there be a sequel? We have the answer.
A little over a year after the broadcast of the first part in December 2023, Florence Pernel and Jean-Baptiste Shelmerdine are back in action this Saturday, January 4 for a new episode of Enquête Parallèle.
In this new opus, entitled “An Almost Perfect Crime”, viewers will be able to find Fred, a former war reporter who became a journalist for a local newsroom, and Manu, his faithful cameraman, in a new investigation.
Jacques is a desperate ironworker since his wife, Fanny, left him and he can no longer see his son. When he is about to commit suicide, Fred saves his life. But the next day, the journalist learns that Jacques is charged with the murder of his wife. Did Fred save a murderer? Is she responsible for Fanny's death?
Convinced that Jacques is innocent despite his indictment by the judge, Fred will lead the investigation within the ironworks, helped by Manu, his cameraman, and Thomas, the gendarmerie commander. But everything leads us to believe in Jacques' guilt…
So the question arises: does the perfect crime exist? Fred refuses to believe it and will fight to bring out the truth. A truth even crueler than she had imagined.
Will there be a third episode?
When it was broadcast in December 2023, the first episode of Enquête Parallèle managed to attract 4.53 million viewers on France 3, thus placing itself at the top of the audiences that evening.
Faced with this great success, the channel made the decision to order not one, but two new episodes. The first, “An Almost Perfect Crime”, is broadcast this Saturday evening, while the second should be offered very soon.
It was in fact filmed last August in Lyon and in the Rhône department. Florence Pernel and Jean-Baptiste Shelmerdine will reprise their roles.
While waiting to discover this third episode of Parallel Investigation, you can find the second opus this Saturday January 4 from 9:05 p.m. on France 3.
