Feminists against armaments and for the end of the genocide in Palestine: Rally in front of the Ministry of the Armed Forces Wednesday January 8

On October 8, on the occasion of one year since the military invasion of Gaza by the Israeli army, a forum signed by more than 120 groups called for demonstrations against the arming of Israel by France and for the end of the genocide in Palestine. Denouncing femonationalism and pink-washing, this call initiated by several feminist organizations gave rise to demonstrations in Paris, Marseille and .

Echoing these mobilizations, Marseille activists have called for this fight against armaments and for the end of the genocide in Palestine to be punctuated by demonstrations every 8th of the month. This dynamic was taken up again in Lyon and Grenoble, giving rise to assemblies and demonstrations which are already set to be repeated on January 8, February 8 and March 8.

Our organizations respond to this call to make the feminist fight against armament and for the liberation of Palestine long-term.

We call on political, trade union, associative and collective organizations to join us in growing this feminist front against armaments.

We denounce the complicity of States, including France, which call for a ceasefire but continue to deliver weapons to Israel. We continue to demand that France immediately stop selling weapons to Israel and call for the construction of truly internationalist feminist solidarity.

In Paris, we are therefore calling for a rally on Wednesday January 8 at 6 p.m. in front of the Ministry of the Armed Forces (Balard metro line 8)

We will relay all the gatherings that will take place on January 8 to respond to this call.

The call “ Feminists against armament and for the end of the genocide in Palestine » is open to new signatures. All organizations that recognize this are invited to join the mobilization of January 8 and the construction of the following ones.

Since the Parisian appeal of October 8feminists are organizing. Strengthened by an international movement that has proven itself in massive organizations, such as in Melbourne on September 11 where 25,000 people marched against armaments.

On October 8, a united rally took place in Paris and a wild feminist night demonstration took to the streets of Marseille. Since then, other marches have taken place in Marseille, culminating in a call on November 8 from the new collective Femmes* Contre l'Armement to continue to meet in the streets, between allies, progressives, and racialized and decolonial people.

Recalling that internationalism is not a struggle of specialists but is alive in our neighborhoods, that there are many of us who are children of immigrants – remembering that the far right feeds on the narrative of white supremacism :

« We have a major need to set perspectives, a pace. To move forward together in a movement that nourishes us, strengthened by our encounters. Place our breaths in time, relying on our identified allies. Develop the abilities to empower ourselves, to defend ourselves. Wars impose their tempo on us and destroy political creativity and its habits, under the absolute imperative of humanitarian emergency, or the pressure of censorship regimes. The body of struggle must take up the subject, broadly, to counter the reactionary bloc which is strengthening and trying to weaken the left. We need hospital beds, schools, housing – not an arms race. »

Photos and videos of the night marches in Marseille are online on the @stoparmingisrael_13 account. The new appeal and leaflet for January 8 are available on the account of @femmes_contrelarmement13

Invitations to organize have appeared in Lyon and Grenoble – local contacts are listed there. In Lyon on December 8, during the Festival of Lights, a quick demonstration took place and can be seen on the account of @stoparmingisrael.lyon
