On the Internet, the French flocked to merchant sites during Black Friday 2024. This is what emerges from the latest figures from Médiamétrie’s Global Internet Audience.

In November 2024, nearly 8 in 10 French people (77.7%) visited general e-commerce sites, mainly during the Black Friday period at the end of the month. This represents 49.8 million Internet users, a new record.

Every day, an average of 22.1 million French people have visited sites and/or mobile applications in this category, or more than a third of the population (34.5%). Note that the majority of them (74.1%) used a mobile to connect. The record was set on Friday, November 29, with a total of 23.7 million unique visitors recorded on the day.

Unsurprisingly, it was Amazon which was popular, with more than 41 million unique visitors over the month, or nearly two out of three French Internet users. Leclerc and Fnac complete the podium, with 20.9 and 19.9 million unique monthly visitors respectively. Followed by Cdiscount (19 million), AliExpress (18.8 million), Carrefour (17.9 million), Temu (17.5 million), Lidl (17.1 million), Boulanger (11.8 million) and Rakuten (11 .2 million).

In November 2024, a total of 56.2 million French people were connected to the Internet, or 87.7% of the population. Every day, 48.5 million of them surfed the Internet for an average of 2 hours 59 minutes.
