José Alvès, the candidate for the show Best Pastry Chef who lives in Lantillac (Morbihan) qualified for the finale. He will compete against Tsiory and Timothée.
For the 13th show, Thursday January 2, three new tests awaited the last four candidates, on the theme of the end-of-year holidays.
Fatigue
For the creative test, candidates were invited to recount a highlight of their existence in the form of a “snow globe” cake.
The oldest candidate chose to talk about his 50th birthday. This ordeal gave him a cold sweat, the coating of his “layer cake” causing him some problems. Above all, José appeared very tired on screen, and he had to leave the room to rest, without attending the jury's comments on his achievement. “It’s a constant time trial, it’s tiring,” he said a few weeks ago.
A complex semi-final
Returning to the screen for the two remaining tests, the Morbihan candidate experienced the same setbacks as his comrades in the reproduction of pastry chef Fabio Giambrone's Christmas bauble.
Before the final test, Timothée, the youngest, was the only candidate to have obtained his two “tickets” for the final. The other three were tied. Ultimately it was Benjamin from Le Havre who failed at the gates of the final, José qualifying with a beautiful Pavlova Christmas wreath.
This time, it's the final stretch before knowing the outcome of the season. The appointment is therefore made next Thursday for the final.
Practical. Thursday January 12 at 9:10 p.m. on M6.
