From January 1, all active solidarity income recipients will be automatically registered with Travail. In exchange for “reinforced support”, they are expected to carry out “at least fifteen hours of activity” per week.

Remember, it was an eternity ago, the end of 2023. At the time, the Prime Minister was Elisabeth Borne, the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt. Barely a few months had passed since the social movement against the pension reform, and already the government, with its objective of reducing the unemployment rate to 5%, was pushing through – this time without 49.3, thanks to support massive LR deputies – a new text, whether called “full employment law” or “RSA reform”.

A year later, the Assembly was dissolved and three governments succeeded one another. But this law must come into full force on January 1, 2025, with a generalization of what the administration poetically calls “renovated support for RSA recipients”. What was until then an experiment limited to 49 employment areas in as many departments will now concern nearly 1.8 million active solidarity income recipients (635.71 euros maximum for a single person without children).

The most immediate effects are administrative. As of January 1, all RSA recipients who were not already there (nearly a million people) and some 200,000 young people less must be automatically registered with France Travail (formerly Pôle Emploi). 25 years old
