A show grandiose and joyfulthe expression is not overused. Tuesday December 31, 2024, night fell on Paris. Despite the bitter cold and an impressive security system, a human tide (one million people expected) invaded the Champs-Élysées (8th) to celebrate one last time a year and a city that made the whole world vibrate, but also to triumphantly enter 2025.

From Cerrone to Jenifer via Gims

After the undisputed success of the 2024 Olympics and the brilliant reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral, the “Grande Soirée du 31” organized by Télévisions, then the sound and lights offered by the Town Hall allowed Parisians of heart and reason as well only for tourists and foreigners on the prowl to vibrate. Without scruple and with great thought for the Mahoraisin the deepest depression since the passage of Cyclone Chido on the French archipelago in the Indian Ocean.

Dancers from the Moulin-Rouge, Kendji Girac, Amir, Jean-Louis Aubert, Cerrone, Keblack and Franglish, Chimène Badi, Jenifer, Eddy de Pretto, Gims, the troupe of the Sun King, David Hallyday, circus artists… No need to list the list of artists summoned by the public service channel from 9 p.m. here on the most beautiful avenue in the world, there in recorded sequences.

Although varied profiles and influencesthey seemed to unite the public on site, while, on social networks, some regretted a somewhat formal casting, even in bad taste. Others were upset about the sound not being optimal all the time.

Presented as an opportunity to relive the best moments of the 2024 Olympic Games, the evening notably included the remote intervention of rugby champion Antoine Dupont.

The Republican Guard was not left out. After their “improbable” and no less remarkable duet with Aya Nakamura during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the now trendy musicians of the National Gendarmerie have re-pointed the ends of their instruments for a once again explosive association. All golden shoulder pads out, they accompanied Jade Chantelle, singer and revue leader at Paradis Latin, who performed I Will Survive.

During the evening presented by Stéphane Bern, moments more beautiful than others emerged, captured by journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi and his partner, Magali Ripoll.

After forty years of living together, Yann got down on one knee and asked his partner, Monique, to marry him (spoiler: she accepted).

It was also “with a lot of emotion” that the mayor (PS) of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, spoke for a few moments at the end of the show and before the sound and lights projected on the Arc de Triomphe, in order to to “bring a final end to a memorable year”. What followed, for about twenty minutes, was a dream mapping designed by artist Amine Rachad and DJ Daauliac, and completed with a grandiose fireworks display.

Smiles, leaps of joy, songs… The year 2024 couldn't end and begin better.
