Dense fog carries through Monday afternoon with temps near freezing

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Fog has maintained its stronghold across parts of Western Wisconsin this morning, keeping visibility between a quarter and a half of a mile despite the sun being up for several hours at this point. This dense fog will require your heightened attention while driving, allowing for extra time and slower driving speeds. Remember low beams are the best headlight setting in foggy weather. The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for several counties in Western Wisconsin until noon, but could be extended should these conditions persist.

Temperatures have been hovering around the freezing point for the majority of the day thus far, which could mean potential slick spots will also be a factor! As temperatures climb this afternoon, however, the slick spots are not expected to be as much of a factor. A First Alert weather day is in effect for these impacts to travel.
