The sanction took effect on December 24. The Cher specialist doctor accused of sexual assault by several patients can no longer practice his profession. He was suspended for five months (the maximum duration), confirms the Regional Health Agency, requested first by Berry Républicain, then by France Bleu Berry. At least three complaints were filed against the practitioner by women who agreed to testify with us. They describe touching and completely inappropriate questions, unrelated to the reason for their consultation. The doctor was interviewed during his police custody in mid-December. The ARS decided to suspend him.
A precautionary decision
The order of doctors of Cher alerted the body about this doctor, and the complaints filed, on December 19. “The law provides that in the event of an emergency, when the continuation of his practice by a doctor exposes his patients to serious danger, the director of the regional health agency pronounces the immediate suspension of the right to practice” explains the ARS, in a press release. The disciplinary chamber has been contacted. “This suspension decision (…) is not a sanction, but a precautionary decision, pending the decision which will be taken by the ordinal body. At the same time, Justice is carrying out its work. recalls the Regional Health Agency.
The body encourages any patient who has suffered an inappropriate act from a healthcare professional, or any witness, to denounce him. Either with the ARS (in writing, addressed to the regional headquarters located in Orléans, with the departmental directorates whose contact details can be found on the internet, or via an online form on the ARS website) or with the departmental council of the order of the profession concerned. “Patient safety, respect and dignity are top priorities” would like to clarify the Regional Health Agency.
We tried to contact the health professional in question on December 17, but he did not respond to our requests.
