Lidl becomes a partner of the women’s European Football Championship in Switzerland

The “UEFA Women’s EURO 2025” will take place in Switzerland from July 2nd to 27th, 2025, of which Lidl is the official partner. The new partnership is part of Lidl’s long-term sponsorship journey, the retailer writes in a press release. It follows engagements, including at UEFA EURO 2024, in handball and cycling. At the 2024 Men’s European Football Championship in Germany, Lidl was the most noticed brand partner of the tournament (YouGov), it is said.

Switzerland is the host country of the European Women’s Football Championship. The football games take place in the cities of Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lucerne, Sion, St. Gallen, Thun and Zurich. Nathalie Forrer, Head of Marketing at Lidl Switzerland, says: “Sport is an important part of our long-term commitment to health and conscious nutrition. We are pleased to support this with outstanding events.”

Promote exercise and healthy eating

As a food retailer, Lidl understands what a crucial factor good nutrition is for health. Lidl encourages a conscious diet with fresh fruits and vegetables, plant-based protein and whole grain products, according to the statement. A healthy lifestyle also includes regular exercise.
