Perhaps a little blow from a menhir on the head would help us wait until the fall of 2025, but it risks making us lose our memory a little. This is of course what happens to the druid Panoramix in “Le combat des chefs”, an album by Uderzo and Goscinny that Alain Chabat chose to adapt into a series.
An animated series, not like his “Mission Cleopatra”, but the first trailer suggests a humor just as delightful as in this film which remains the best adaptation of the little Gaul so far. Chabat brings his touch to it, since we already see some discoveries in these images, like Caesar’s mother.
The idea of writing down in full the sounds of the slaps given to the Romans seems excellent. And what a voice casting: Chabat as Astérix, Gilles Lellouche remains Obélix after the much less successful film by Guillaume Canet, Laurent Laffite is César, Thierry Lhermitte Panoramix and Alexandre Astier, himself director of two good animated Astérixes, is Ordralfabétix.
This will be seen on Netflix, but not before fall 2025, by Toutatis.
