The Lyonnais left them six years ago, Place Bellecour. Since then, they have multiplied. Animation, mapping, sculptures, Anooki are available today all over the world, in all forms. They are making their comeback this year at the Tête d'Or park, during the Festival of Lights.
“We are coming back with a much more intimate project, these are statues that we have exhibited in different cities around the world. It’s really a return home, a return to nature too, in a more poetic environment.”Moetu Batlle – Designer and co-creator of Inook office
REPORT PREPARATION FOR ANOOKI FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
Two little characters become a “work of art”
Created 25 years ago by two designers from Lyon to talk about global warming, the Anooki will also be guests of the Sofitel hotel for an exceptional exhibition organized until December 15.
“This is an exploration around Anooki as an art object. The constraint we have set ourselves is to use recycled or recyclable or biosourced materials. It’s very consistent with Anooki’s environmental message.” David Passegand – Designer and co-creator of the Inook desk
The Festival of Lights changed everything
Who would have thought, twelve years ago, during their first appearance at the Festival of Lights, that these little Inuits would travel to around thirty cities, forcing their creator to change careers.
“We never imagined becoming 100% lighting artists. For us, we were going to move on to the Festival of Lights, and then do other things, continue our life before. The Festival of Lights changed our lives.” David Passegand – Designer and co-creator of the Inook desk
Another creation from Inook, the Grand Mix
It's not just the Anooki, the alternative design office Inook is also behind the Grand Mix at the Museum of Fine Arts, Place des Terreaux, during the 2022 edition of the Festival of Lights. This monumental show brought the museum’s works to life with a repertoire of popular hits. *”The Grand Mix at the Museum of Fine Arts, Place des Terreaux, in 2022 is a concept that also travels a lot abroad.”*Moetu Batlle – Designer and co-creator of Inook office
Between a Grand Mix planned at the Louvre Lens in the coming days and Anooki leaving for London after their visit to Lyon, it's a bit of a Festival of Lights every day for David and Moetu.
