Météo- announced that six departments will be on orange alert for strong winds on Monday. This vigilance, which concerns the center-east of the country, will begin at midnight on the night of Sunday to Monday.

Six departments will be placed on orange alert for violent winds during the night from Sunday to Monday, Météo-France announced on November 24, 2024.

These are Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Saône-et-, Haute-Loire, Rhône and Loire. “An extension of orange vigilance is not completely excluded at this stage”warns Météo-France.

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques already on orange alert

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques are already on orange alert this Sunday, until 6 p.m.

“The south-southeast wind is strengthening across the country this Sunday morning, particularly in the Basque Country”note Météo-France. According to the meteorological institute, the strongest gusts reached 114 km/h at Pointe de Socoa and 87 km/h in for the coast and 171 km/h at Iraty (1427 m) and 100 km/h at Soum Couy (2142 m) for the mountain, this Sunday morning.
