The town of Vimy is in shock after the death of a mother and her two children Saturday afternoon in a road accident. The collision occurred with another vehicle near Gavrelle, in Pas-de-Calais. The family lived in the town of Vimy and was well known to other residents of the town.
“A very integrated family”
The mother, aged 42, lived alone with her two little boys, aged 8 and 10. A family “very integrated” to the life of the town according to the mayor of Vimy, Christian Sprimont. One of the two children was licensed in the city's football clubwho paid tribute to him on Facebook The post brings together hundreds of comments from residents expressing their condolences and their shock at this tragedy.
Another tribute was paid this Sunday morning during the mass celebrated at the Vimy Church. A prayer was said for the children and their mother.
Starting Monday, Mayor Vimy must go to the school where the two children attended, in order to set up a support unit for students. The elected official must also meet the sister of the deceased woman, in order to think about how the town can pay tribute to the family.
