Pronostic ATP Finals
Time for the first semi-final of the Turin Masters with the duel between the German Alexander Zverev and the American Taylor Fritz.
Announced in great form and among the favorites for these ATP Finals, Alexander Zverev was able to assume his status in Italy throughout the week. The German had experienced a more difficult second part of the season after the first months where the world number 2 had shown that he was back at his best level. Finals at the Australian Open and Roland Garros, as well as a title at the Masters 1000 in Rome. The rest was more difficult for Alexander Zverev who, without being in total trouble, did not have the expected results. Defeats before the semi-finals at the Olympics, in Montreal or even at the US Open which showed a German less physically and mentally strong. A small mishap confirmed during the Asian tour where the tennis player from across the Rhine was not to his advantage. But the return to Europe made it possible to find the real Alexander Zverev who won the Masters 1000 at Paris Bercy two weeks ago, giving him that confidence which he had been lacking for several weeks.
This week in Italy, Alexander Zverev was very solid, coming out first and undefeated in his group. Successes on Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud then especially on Carlos Alcaraz, pushing Spain towards the exit and at the same time ensuring him the place of runner-up to Jannik Sinner at the end of the season.
The German's next opponent in these ATP Finals, Taylor Fritz. The American was again very consistent throughout the season, having his best year with today a place of 5th player in the world. But until now, the Californian had never performed in a Grand Slam, always stopping in the quarter-finals. But last September, Taylor Fritz broke this barrier which could slow him down psychologically by reaching the final of the US Open, beating a certain Alexander Zverev in the process. A result which could serve as a trigger for the American who must now claim victory in major tournaments this season, as well as in these 2024 Turin Masters.
Taylor Fritz went for his qualification for the final four with guts! After a first benchmark victory over the Russian Daniil Medvedev, the American then logically suffered the law of Jannik Sinner during the second meeting. Forced to win during the last meeting against Alex De Minaur, the 5th player was able to reverse the situation against the Australian for a victory in 3 sets which opened the doors to the semi-finals in Piedmont, where he will face Alexander Zverev, a good memory for the Californian who took out the German in the quarter-finals of the last US Open.
