Olivia Rodrigo (2003) becomes the youngest headliner ever at Rock Werchter, and the first born in the 21st century. She has been a top favorite in our rumor lists for some time now. Reactions to the booking are already coming in via the Festileaks Festival Forum.
Rock Werchter previously announced the arrival of Green Day (Friday) and Sam Fender (Saturday) as headliners for the remaining days. There is now one final act missing, and it looks like it will be Linkin Park.
Headliner status
Second album GUTS catapults Olivia Rodrigo to headliner status at festivals throughout Europe. In addition to Rock Werchter, she plays at BST Hyde Park in London, NOS Alive in Portugal and I-Days in Italy.
It became clear that the American pop star can count on sufficient popularity after she easily sold out the Ziggo Dome twice earlier this year. Rodrigo is also doing well in Belgium, where she defeated the Sportpaleis in Antwerp twice. The only possible next step: the last spots at the largest pop festivals in the Low Countries.
