In the National Assembly, a lively exchange broke out between Thomas Portes, LFI deputy, and Philippe Lottiaux, of the National Rally (RN), during a question addressed Wednesday, November 30 to the government on the situation in Gaza.
During a question to the government addressed by an elected official from La France Insoumise (LFI), a lively exchange broke out within the National Assembly between the two opposites of the hemicycle. The deputy for Seine-Saint-Denis Thomas Portes and the deputy Philippe Lottiaux exchanged a few names this Wednesday, November 30, reports BFMTV.
At the origin of the parliamentary skirmish, a question addressed to the government by Nathalie Oziol, elected representative for Hérault. The latter questioned the ministers about the situation of Palestinians under fire from the Israeli army in Gaza since October 7. According to the report of the session, RN deputy Julien Odoul then quipped: “Ah, it’s been a long time!”
“They are your friends, the terrorists”
Nathalie Oziol continues her remarks and denounces in her speech the vote of the Israeli Parliament banning the activities of the UNWRA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East) in Israel. Far-right MPs pour their comments into the chamber: “They (the rebels) are hand in hand with Hamas”lance Julien Odoul (RN), “They are terrorists”adds Laurent Jacobelli. It was then that Philippe Lottiaux intervened for the first time: “These are your friends, the terrorists!”
The latter, elected from Var, continues his invectives. The LFI deputy Thomas Portes then comes on stage and sends him “Shut up! We’ll take care of you”, “Go ahead and get out”he tells him. “We’re going to explain ourselves outside, you’ll see”he ends up telling him, visibly on edge in the face of the behavior of the Frontist deputy. On his networks, the president of the party Jordan Bardella took the opportunity to denounce what he calls “scum culture” of LFI to the National Assembly.
