“There are currently five injured, several of whom are seriously injured, even very serious.” In an interview given to BFM TV/RMC, Friday November 1, the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, spoke about the brawl that occurred on Thursday evening in Poitiers, in Vienne. “This event began at 10:45 p.m. (…) with a shooting at a restaurant and (…) ended with a brawl between rival gangs, between several hundred people,” he detailed, adding that there was “between 400 and 600 people involved.”
“It is of course linked to drug trafficking, I can confirm it to you,” he added. In the night, the Vienne prefecture had announced that a “shooting” occurred in the Les Couronneries district in Poitiers had made “five injured”. “Tensions between groups broke out requiring the intervention of the police and the gendarmerie”had specified the prefect on the social network, ensuring that “police reinforcements will be deployed” from Friday.
