Julie Gayet put in the spotlight in Corrèze, the stronghold of François Hollande: this gift which touched her enormously

A major achievement for Julie Gayet! During the day of Friday October 25, François Hollande's wife was in a region dear to her heart, Corrèze. But if she was not in Tulle, where she lives alongside the former President of the Republic, Benjamin Biolay's friend was passing through, this time, in a completely different town, in Meymac, in order to present her very last film made in homage to Olympe de Gouges. On this occasion, the French actress had the opportunity to screen her film in a very special place: the Julie Gayet cinema.

Indeed, after major renovation work and taking into account Julie Gayet's career, the Corrèze commune then decided to rename this cinema in honor of the actress. An attention which deeply touched the main person concerned. “It's always so moving to inaugurate a cinema“, she first informed our colleagues at the newspaper The Mountain. Before continuing, grateful: “It is a place of life, of sharing; seeing a film together is such an extraordinary experience. That a cinema bears my name, I am very moved and honored.”

Julie Gayet and François Hollande in Corrèze: why did they settle down in Tulle?

During a report broadcast on 3 regions, broadcast in 2020, François Hollande and Julie Gayet explained the reasons why they were won over by the charm of the town of Tulle – where they also got married in June 2022 “The first time I came to the Tulle market was during the legislative campaign in 1988. Many Tullists then told me that if I came, it was just because it was an election period. . So I vowed that no more no one could ever make this reproach to me“, remembered the man who was the mayor of the town from 2001 to 2008.

However, as far as Julie Gayet was concerned, the town of Tulle had a major advantage: tranquility. “I will always remember the first time we arrived in Tulle. I saw François get out of the car and go straight to get his newspaper from this tobacconistthe actress remembered. Elsewhere, it was so complicated, with people everywhere. Here, he crossed the street, he entered the tobacconist… So I told myself that in Tulle, it was his home.
