Nicolas Depoortere, the international center of Bordeaux-Bègles, suffered a severe head concussion and left on a stretcher at the start of the 2nd half against Perpignan (66-12), this Saturday October 12.

Thrown with the ball in hand, Depoortere was hit in the face by the head of Fijian USAP center Apisai Naqalevu, who came to tackle him without his arms. He was sent off for this action after the intervention of video refereeing.
Depoortere, who made his first selections for the French team during the last Six Nations Tournament, was expected to appear in coach Fabien Galthié’s list of 42 for the next autumn tour which begins at the beginning of November.
His exit, however, did not prevent the Bordelais from winning easily 66-12.
