Pedagogy Day – University
Pedagogy Day – Angers University

The Lab’UAthe teaching support service of the University of , has been supporting teaching teams in the transformation of their courses for 10 years. Thanks to the expertise of educational engineers, this support service helps to design teaching sequences adapted to contemporary issues, such as gamification or the integration of AI. In 2025, the focus will be on the learning experience of students who will be invited for the first time to participate in these days. Their contribution will allow us to gather their opinions on learning methods with always the same objective: success! Update with Ma tthieu Eveillard, vice-president of educational support and transformation.

What is this week’s ambition in relation to the establishment strategy that you have in terms of teaching transformation?

In terms of educational transformation, the strategic plan of the University of Angers highlights the inclusion of students in the construction of teaching and assessments and the promotion of teachers’ commitment to active teaching and interdisciplinarity, with the support of Lab’ educational engineersUA.

By organizing this event, we want to question students about their perception of teaching methods and collect their feedback to better understand their needs and expectations. The goal is to strengthen collaboration between teachers and students in order to create more adapted, more inclusive and more effective learning paths. Through the Lab’UAwe put in place a dynamic of co-construction which places the student at the heart of the learning process. This contributes to the strategy of transforming our teaching practices and to the continuous improvement of the quality of teaching at the University of Angers.

Why open it to students for the first time this year?

Their direct involvement is essential in the continuous improvement of teaching. Students, as the main actors in their journey, bring a valuable perspective on the teaching methods that concern them. Their active participation allows us to better understand their experiences and their expectations, in order to adapt our teaching practices to promote a more positive and engaging learning environment.

Can you give us the highlights?

Among the highlights of this second edition, we can note:

  • The inaugural conference on Tuesday January 21 entitled “The impact of emotions on learning: ways to promote a positive experience at university. This conference, led by Delphine Guédat-Bittighoffer from the University of Angers, will be a key moment to explore how emotions influence student learning. This theme highlights an essential aspect of the student experience that is sometimes forgotten.
  • Podcast debates: “From the student voice to the path to success” (Tuesday January 21) is inspired by the already known film debate. The Lab’UA went to collect student testimonies. The resulting first podcast, on the theme of well-being, will allow us to hear authentic testimonials from students which will serve as a basis for discussions around a pedagogy that takes into account the learner as a whole.
  • The “ABC method: preparing your lessons with the help of students” workshop (Thursday January 23) : already proposed to teachers in the training plan. This is a new version of this workshop during which students are invited to reflect with teachers on the construction of their course.
  • Several sharing of student experiences : for the first time, students take the floor to present their own experiences around a theme that directly concerns them, to learn and inspire each other.

These highlights aim to give students a voice, involve them in creating their learning path and strengthen their commitment to their academic success.
